Recycling Pet Fur

During pet brushings, I fill about a pint-sized container of fur to save for nesting material in the spring. Around mid-April, I put out a small screen mesh feeder with the fur and watch our local chickadees pull out large beakfuls to carry to their nesting cavities.

Each time I am amazed at how these little birds can see to fly with all the fur they take out at once!
