Spring Odds 'N Ends

lilimcmillan.substack.com

Spring migration is winding down here with most of the neotropical birds on territory or finishing their last leg to Canada. A couple various images from May:

Did not have many orioles at my feeder this May but the red-bellied woodpecker enjoyed the oranges and the chipmunks loved doing clean-up duty.
This past winter’s deep snowpack was tough on the deer. Plenty of food and freshwater now.
Three tom turkeys hanging together now that the courtship season is over.
Five male mallards congregating now since their spring duties are over. Female mallards will raise the ducklings that are about ready to hatch.
